What is a gender reveal?

Gender reveal parties and stunts are occasions when the parents of a child which is still in the womb detect the child's gender beforehand while imaging the fetus and celebrate the revelation. Gender revelation is prohibited in India with regards to rampant female foeticides. Yet countries across the world celebrate a child - whether a boy or a girl - in advance. While doing so, every parent attempts something that would make their party stand apart and during these attempts, many times blunders happen.

Gender reveals that went wrong

Gender reveal stunts have proved to be perilous lately. Pamela Kreimeyer, the grandmother of a family in Knoxville, Lowa was killed on October 26, 2019, when an explosion meant only to send up pink or blue smoke sent shrapnel flying as well. The expectant couple had inadvertently made a pipe bomb that burst into pieces of metal which hit the 56-year-old in the head, killing her instantly. Days, after another explosion was attempted in the area which shook the entire neighborhood yet no lives, were lost. Similarly, another group throwing a gender reveal party attacked the manager and staff of a restaurant in Ohio when they were asked to clean the mess they created in the party. They were said to have left the party without paying a bill. Ladt October in Australia, a family revealed the expectant mother was having a boy via blue smoke emitting from a truck while the driver did a burnout in the driveway in which the tires of the truck quickly burst into flames due to all the friction. In July last year, a couple posing a firework show was reported to have severed mild burns along with their close ones who were present in the vicinity. The same year in June, a father was hit by a football that burst into pink fumes in New Jersey. Back in 2017, an off-duty border patrol agent revealed he was expecting a boy with an explosion that ended up igniting a 47,000-acre wildfire in Arizona and had to pay more than $8 million in restitution.
