White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Wednesday that U.S. relationship with Moscow "will look different" under President Joe Biden than it did under his predecessor, Donald Trump.

"We will be direct, we will speak out on areas where we have concerns, and it will certainly be, as the president said last night — certainly, the Russians will be held accountable for the actions that they have taken," Psaki said.

She spoke a day after Biden said in a television interview aired Tuesday night that Russian President Vladimir Putin will "will pay a price," for his involvement in influencing the 2020 elections.

The interview came on the heels of a declassified report from the US national intelligence director's office that found Putin authorized influence operations to help Trump in last November's presidential election.
