Playing a warm host to Prime Minister Modi ahead of his Houston visit for the mega Howdy Modi event, the Governor of Texas Greg Abbott, in a video message, elaborated on the affability shared between India and the state of Texas. In an exclusive video message, the Texas Governor accentuated on the 'enduring' bond that is rooted in 'shared values, cultural ties and economic partnership' of both the regions.
Abbott said, "I am so proud to join my fellow Texasians to welcome Prime Minister Modi to our great state. There is a strong and enduring bond between India, Texas and the Indian American community. It is the bond that is rooted in our shared values, our cultural ties, and our strong economic partnership."

PM Modi's 'Howdy Modi' grand event hosted by Houston at the NRG stadium will see the participation of over 50,000 people from the Indian-American community on September 22. Along with a pool of crowd, US President Donald Trump would be in attendance with alongside the Prime Minister,
The White House Press Secretary stated that ways to deepen the energy and trade relationship would be discussed during the meeting between PM Modi and the US President. Subsequently, the PM thanked President Trump’s “special gesture”. He opined that President Trump joining the 'Howdy, Modi!' programme was a recognition of the contribution of the Indian community to American society and economy. Also, singing sensation Sparsh Shah has been selected to perform the Indian National Anthem at the event. Afterwards, he has multiple bilateral meetings lined up with various Heads of the countries along with engagements at the United Nations.
The crowd turnout will be threefold as compared to the earlier gatherings in the United States. In a first, Donald Trump will be addressing an event organised by the Indians in the US. Senior Democratic Congressman Steny Hoyer is also touted to attend the event. More than 60 US lawmakers have been said to attend the event.
There will be a 90-minute extravaganza to showcase the cultural diversity of the Indian-American community. Singers and dancers are to entertain the crowd attending the event. More than 400 artists have been hired to perform at this event. Such programmes usually have a huge impact on geopolitics as they showcase that despite some differences, India and America stand together in cooperation.
