US President Trump has been trolled by many Americans since the day he started his successful Presidential bid for the 2016 elections. The trolling only increased when he assumed office, taking it to a global level as the world witnessed his many gaffes and lies.

But left-wing New Yorkers have taken the Trump trolling to a new level in a very organised manner. International news reports on Thursday said that a petition which started as a joke has attracted 3,00,000 signatures quickly. The demand - Rename the block of Fifth Avenue between 56th and 57th Streets as 'President Barack H. Obama Avenue'.

Why does this troll Trump?

The block is also home to the infamous golden-lettered Trump Tower. Hence if the petition gets accepted, Trump Tower's official new address would be 725 President Barack H. Obama Avenue.

As per reports, the petition authored by Elizabeth Rowin of the left-leaning moveon.org states that the street should be renamed because of the 44th US President - Barack Obama's exemplary accomplishments which include - "saving our nation from the Great Recession; serving two completely scandal-free terms in office; and taking out Osama bin Laden." Previously, Los Angeles had renamed a stretch of the 134 Freeway near Downtown L.A. in Obama's honour.

Petition's success rate

Rowin has stated that she started the joke last fall after a comedian had suggested that Trump would be furious if the block would be named after Obama, in an interview with a US news magazine. She added that the petition will be delivered to New York Mayor and US 2020 Democratic Presidential nominee Bill De Blasio, and New York City Council for their consideration.

Many top news websites have suggested that the petition will most probably not go through as it fails to meet one of the key guidelines for co-naming streets in the city which states that Individual prospective honorees must be deceased for at least two years prior to consideration.
