A crowd of protesters gathered outside California's State Capitol on Saturday to rally against hate crimes on Asian Americans, Pacific Islanders and other communities.

The demonstrators at the Unity Against Hate rally in Sacramento aimed to highlight the physical and verbal violence some members of those ethnic communities had experienced.
Similar rallies were held across the country on Saturday in cities including Washington DC, Cleveland, Houston and New York City.
