US: 4 people killed, 5 injured in shooting incident in Kansas City

On Sunday, a total of 9 people were shot inside the Tequila KC Bar in Kansas City, US out of which 4 persons died on the spot. No individual has been arrested.

On Sunday, a total of 9 people were shot inside the Tequila KC Bar in Kansas City, United States of America out of which 4 persons died on the spot. According to the police spokesperson Thomas Tomasic, this incident happened at about 1.30 am local time. No one has been arrested so far. While all the deceased men have been identified as Hispanic, Tomasic refused to attribute a racial motive to the crime. He stated that two men got into a dispute with some people in the bar, after which they left the place. Subsequently, they returned back with handguns and shot the persons.

Injured persons in stable condition 

The Tequila KC bar is a private venue, open only to members. The 5 injured people managed to flee the bar and took refuge in a nearby park. While 4 of them were taken to the University of Kansas hospital, one person was rushed to the Truman Medical Center. They are reported to be in a stable condition. Besides the Kansas City Police, agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms also arrived at the scene. Shells of a handgun were recovered from the spot. The agents witnessed highly emotive moments as a woman broke down in tears, while another man threw up. Later, the officers re-entered the bar with a search warrant at around 7.30 am. Speaking to a local news publication, Juan Ramirez, a citizen of Kansas City revealed that his 29-year-old nephew was among those killed.

The Mayor reacts 

Quinton Lucas, the mayor of Kansas City opined that he was pained at the shooting. He expressed solidarity with everyone affected by the incident.
