White House national security adviser Robert O'Brien met with Vietnamese Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh in Hanoi on Saturday.

O'Brien's visit to Vietnam marks the 25-year anniversary of normalization between the two countries since the end of the Vietnam War.

He was due to take part in a Q&A session with students from the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam on Sunday before leaving for the Philippines.
