Sources report that the Washington D.C Police department have held a briefing regarding the incident. Police officials have stated that the shooting took place at 10 PM (East Coast Time). Police have informed that one person has died in the shooting while 5 have been left injured. Sources report that the shooting took place close to D.C's high profile area housing the White House.

Shooting details and lookout for assailants

Sources report that multiple gunshots were heard from the area on Thursday night. Reports suggest that the police have ruled out an 'active shooting' situation. Two ambulances have been seen at the location, as per sources. The DC police department have also released the assailants and the assailants' car details.

Police briefing on shooting

The DC police department's Commander Stuart Emerman has provided details about the shooting stating that the police had responded to the shooting at 10 PM in 1300 Columbia Road, where 6 people were found with gun shot wounds. While one has been pronounced dead since then, he informed that the others have been admitted to the hospital with injuries ranging from not critical to severely critical. Police is currently investigating and are on the lookout for the assailants. They are viewing camera footage from the area to trace the shooter.

Shooting at Columbia Road, Washington D.C

In a shocking development, six people have been shot at Columbia Heights in Washington D.C. on Thursday night, as per international news reports. According to police officials, the shooting reportedly took place in the busy 1300 block of Columbia Road NW. Police have also stated, as per reports, that while all six victims are being transported to hospitals with various wounds, two are in critical condition. Detectives are present at the site, as per reports.
