So far, Cheatle has resisted the calls for resignation. However, she has admitted that the Secret Service failed in its duty to protest the former president.
She said that she is the "best person to lead the Secret Service at this time." She added that “we must learn what happened and I will move heaven and earth to ensure an incident like July 13th does not happen again”.
