Peru: Undercover 'Santa Claus' filmed while catching drug traffickers | WATCH

In Peru, this unique Santa, unlike the fabled character, doesn't call the North Pole home. His arrival was marked by a resounding BOOM to grab those on the 'naughty list' by the collar and escort them to the police van. At least that's what happened when police staged an undercover sting operation against a house of suspected drug traffickers, filming the raid in a video that has gone viral online.

The footage depicts the primary officer, clad in a padded Santa suit to bewilder the suspects, wielding a sledgehammer to forcefully breach the door. Donning a oversized mask resembling Old Saint Nick or Father Christmas, he assists his colleagues in apprehending a group of men inside and escorted them out in handcuffs.

The undercover agents caught two men allegedly selling cocaine and cannabis in a house in Huaral.

"The most valuable gift we can offer people is a sense of security," stated Police Colonel Jorge Angulo in an interview with America TV following the operation.

The Santa cop is part of a specialized undercover unit in Lima tasked with patrolling the capital's streets and conducting raids incognito.
