New Delhi: Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni conveyed her birthday greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi , who turned 74 on Tuesday. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Meloni highlighted the strong and evolving ties between Italy and India, underlining their shared commitment to tackling global challenges together.
"Happy birthday to the Prime Minister of India @narendramodi. I am sure that we will continue to strengthen our friendship and collaboration between Italy and India, to face together the global challenges that await us India and Italy," she wrote on Twitter.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is celebrating his 74th birthday today, marking yet another milestone in his long career of public service.
Born on September 17, 1950, in the small town of Mehsana, Gujarat , Narendra Damodardas Modi's journey from modest beginnings to becoming one of India's most influential leaders is truly remarkable.
Modi’s tenure as the Chief Minister of Gujarat , spanning three consecutive terms from 2001 to 2014, was marked by economic growth and reforms in governance.
He assumed the role of Prime Minister of India in 2014, and is currently serving his third term in office.
Meloni's camaraderie with Prime Minister Narendra Modi
Earlier this year, Meloni had shared a small selfie video showing her camaraderie with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the G7 Summit. “Hello from the Melodi team,” the 47-year-old Italian leader, the country’s first woman Prime Minister, had said in the video.
In December last year, the two leaders had clicked a selfie on the sidelines of the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) in Dubai.
Sharing the picture, Meloni wrote in the caption, “Good friends at COP28, #Melodi.” During their bilateral talks, the two leaders reviewed the progress of the bilateral strategic partnership and agreed to strengthen cooperation in global fora and multilateral initiatives, including the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor.
“Had a very good meeting with PM @GiorgiaMeloni,” Prime Minister Modi wrote on X. “We discussed ways to further cement India-Italy relations in areas like commerce, energy, defence, telecom and more. Our nations will work together in futuristic areas like biofuels, food processing and critical minerals,” he said after the meeting.
