26-yr-old woman allured for job, gang-raped near Noida mall, 3 held

Noida: Three men were arrested on Monday, January 1, in a horrific gang-rape incident of a 26-year-old woman that took place in June 2023. However, search for two other suspects, including the key accused, a local strongman is underway.

As per media reports, the accused have been identified as Ravi, Azad, Vikas, Rajkumar and Mehmi.

According to the Police, the victim was sexually assaulted after being allured for a job. They added that the incident took place near a shopping mall a few months ago but the complainant approached the local police on December 30 after repeated harassment by the accused.

An official spokesperson said, " The FIR was lodged at the Sector 39 police station on December 30 after which an investigation taken up and three of the accused arrested."

This comes as the victim didn't immediately not reported the matter until December 30 after she was harassed by the accused once again. She addressed them as ‘Dabang’ (strong men).

An investigation is taken up and three of the accused arrested.

The arrested accused have been produced in a local court which remanded them in judicial custody, the police added.
