In response to US reports that there was a plot to assassinate Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the government would "look into" any information that supported the assertions.

PM Modi added that a "few incidents" will not destroy the relationship between the US and India in an interview with the UK's The Financial Times.

Nikhil Gupta, the Indian national was accused by the United States of plotting the murder of Khalistani leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun.

Gupta's family takes legal action

Following the allegations by US, startling developments hah come in forefront. The family of Gupta has taken legal action by filing a Habeas Corpus petition in the Supreme Court.

Gupta sought the intervention of the Indian Government to secure his release from prison in the Czech Republic.

According to the petition filed by Gupta's family on Friday morning, he alleged several violations during his detention in Czech custody.

Gupta claimed he was forced to consume beef and pork, directly conflicting with his devout Hindu and vegetarian beliefs. This alleged infringement on his religious rights forms a significant part of his plea for release.

Adding to his plea, Gupta highlighted the "absence of an arrest warrant and lack of fair representation" during his detention. These claims raised concerns about the legal procedures followed in his case and the overall fairness of the process.
