Following an innings and 32-run defeat, the best possible outcome left for the Rohit Sharma-led side is drawing level with the proteas. The second Test is scheduled to start on January 3, 2024, and for that, the preparations are in full swing. Some visuals have come out from the net session where Virat Kohli could be seen batting. King Kohli, who has had a fabulous 2023 would look to keep the flow open in 2024, and signs are certainly there as he looked in ferocious touch during practice.

While Kohli is known to play more grounded shots, when it comes to practice he did not shy away from going down the track and strike a massive six off his long-time teammate Ravichandran Ashwin's delivery. Here's what transpired during the practice session.

India vs South Africa 2nd Test preview

Though India entered the series with the task of ending the long string of not winning a Test series in South Africa and following the defeat in Centurion the wait has only been prolonged. However, there is still a lot left to gain and if India find success in evading the defeat in the series, then it will become only the second side after MS Dhoni's 2010/11 squad to come back to India with a tied result. The second Test will begin from January 3, 2024, at Newlands Cricket Ground
