New Delhi: A day after Narendra Modi was sworn in as the Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive term, the President's office in an official communique announced cabinet ministers' portfolios. In Modi 3.0 Cabinet, the big four ministers were retained, signalling a huge continuity in terms of key government policies. While Amit Shah has been retained as the Home Minister, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharman and S Jaishankar have maintained their positions in the Defence, Finance and External Affairs Ministries respectively. Nitin Gadkari continues as the Minister of Road Transport and Highways. The Prime Minister will keep the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, the Department of Atomic Energy and the Department of Space. The Modi 3.0 Cabinet portfolio in many ways signifies how the government is keen to push the key infra, development projects further in its goal to achieve a developed India by 2047. Shivraj Singh Chouhan has been given Agriculture ministry, a move aimed towards farmers. However, to strike a regional balance and include allies TDP, JDU, HAM and LJP among others, the Modi cabinet has also dropped nearly 37 ministers from the previous council.

Alongside Prime Minister Modi, 30 cabinet ministers, 5 ministers of state (independent charge), and 36 ministers of state were sworn in. Prominent figures among the newly inducted ministers include former Madhya Pradesh chief minister and Vidisha MP Shivraj Singh Chouhan, as well as former Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, now representing the Karnal constituency. The majority of the berths are allocated to the BJP, with the remaining going to allied parties. The BJP-led NDA government also ensured representation for its first MP in Kerala, Suresh Gopi. Hindustani Awami Morcha President Jitan Ram Manjhi secured a ministerial berth. Among the fresh faces from the BJP in the Council of Ministers are Jitin Prasada, Raksha Khadse, Muralidhar Mohol, and V Somanna.

Day 1 of Modi 3.0
After assuming office for a third term, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the officials of the PMO for the first time. Emphasizing dedication, he stated, "We are not bound by time. Our work doesn't adhere to strict office hours. We have no limits to our thinking or criteria for our efforts. This is my team, and the country trusts it."
Earlier, PM Modi arrived at the South Block to take charge for his third term. His first action was signing a file authorizing the release of the 17th instalment of PM Kisan Nidhi, benefiting 9.3 crore farmers with a distribution of approximately Rs 20,000 crores.

Additionally, in its first cabinet meeting, the new government decided to assist in constructing 3 crore rural and urban houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). Over the past decade, a total of 4.21 crore houses have been completed for eligible poor families under this scheme. All PMAY-constructed houses come with essential amenities, including household toilets, LPG connections, electricity, and functional household taps, through convergence with other central and state government schemes.
