It is believed to be the first and the most sacred among the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines of Lord Shiva. It is located in Prabhas Patan near Veraval in Gujarat. The temple has a rich history. 

For seekers of divine blessings, the Shri Kedarnath Dham is one of the most revered Shiva's Jyotirlinga. The temple is part of the Chota Char Dham pilgrimage. 

Located in Varanasi, Kashi Vishwanath is one of the oldest and holiest temples in India and is considered immensely sacred among Hindus. 

The Mahakaleshwar temple is located in the city of Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. It is believed to be the only south-facing Jyotirlinga. 

Located on the banks of the Krishna River, the temple is situated on the Shri Shaila Mountain. It is also called Srisailam and is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. 

This temple is located on the island of Khandwa city in the Narmada River. It is believed that the island is shaped in the form of an ‘Om’. 

Situated on the island of Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu, this Jyotirlinga is associated with the legend of Lord Rama. Rameshwar is one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites as well.

Trimbakeshwar temple is in the Nasik district of Maharashtra. The temple is said to be the source of the Godavari River. 

Located near Pune, the Bhimashankar temple is located in the Sahyadri range. The temple is associated with the legend of Lord Shiva defeating the demon Bhima. 

 The temple is associated with the mythological story of Ravana offering his heads to Shiva. 

The second jyotirlinga is located in Gujarat, it is near the coast of Saurashtra. It is also referred to as the Aar-Gaar (meaning one who is situated in the heart) Jyotirlinga. 

This temple is located near the Ellora caves and is said to be the last or twelfth Jyotirlinga.
