Bengaluru records 82 COVID cases in 24 hours, nearly half of total Karnataka cases

At least 82 have been found positive for COVID in Bengaluru, which is the highest as compared to other districts of the state.

Bengaluru: Karnataka on Friday saw a huge spike in cases as the state recorded 173 fresh COVID-19 cases and two deaths in one day. With this, the total number of active cases in the state goes up to 702, according to the health bulletin.

This takes the total number of coronavirus deaths to more than 10, as per the date shared by the state health department. In one day, as many as 37 patients have been released from hospitals, and 8,349 tests have been conducted out of which, 6,400 are RTPCRs and 1,949 are Rapid Antigen Tests. While the fatality rate stood at 1.15 per cent, the positivity rate stood at 2.07 per cent.

Maximum number of tests were conducted in Bengaluru. Out of the 2,616 tests conducted, 82 have been found positive for the virus, which is the highest as compared to other districts of the state.

The deceased were aged 59 and 69 respectively both admitted in Bengaluru Urban district. Both of them had symptoms of fever and cough, the bulletin stated.]
