The Economic Offences Wing of Mumbai Police has issued summons against Aditya Thackeray's close associate Punyashali Parikh in the 5.96 crore Remdesivir scam case. In this regard, a senior official said "During the Tendering process for Remdesivir when all the senior doctors were present at the mayor's bungalow, Parikh was also present despite not being in the administration nor having any role in the BMC. His presence, thus, raises questions. We suspect that he was the person who had influenced the tendering process. We also suspect he was sent by his political bosses to convey a message due to which the contract was allotted to Mylon Laboratories."

An FIR has been filed by the Mumbai Police's Economic Offenses Wing over the anomalies in the acquisition of Remdesivir injections at inflated prices. Charges of fraud have been brought against representatives of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's central purchasing department and the contractor that provided the injections.

The FIR reported a Rs 5.96 crore scam, with further information to possibly follow as the inquiry progresses. The FIR was initially registered at Mumbai's Agripada police station following which the case was transferred to Mumbai's Economic Offences Wing.
