From Pejawar Mutt seer to Mysuru sculptor, how Karnataka contributed to Ram Mandir construction

Bengaluru: Karnataka is playing a significant role in the ongoing construction of the Ayodhya Ram Temple. From Pejawar Mutt seer Sri Vishwaprasanna Thirtha Swamiji to Mysuru sculptor Arun Yogiraj, several prominent figures are contributing to the monumental project. 

The Ram Temple in Ayodhya, ready for inauguration on January 22, has been constructed on a massive scale with the constructive effort of thousands of dedicated workers, and Karnataka has contributed to the construction with management, resources, and its cultural identity. 

Pejawar seer Vishwaprasanna Thirtha Swamiji

Vishwaprasanna Thirtha Swamiji is the only seer from Southern India in the Sri Rama Janmabhoomi Trust consisting of 15 members. He assumed a significant role in the consecration of the Ram Lalla statue scheduled for January 22. Since joining the trust two years ago, the seer has consistently travelled between Udupi and Ayodhya to oversee the temple's construction.

Mysuru sculptor Arun Yogiraj

The idol of Lord Rama sculpted by fifth-generation Mysuru-based sculptor Arun Yogiraj has been selected for installation in the magnificent Sri Rama Mandir of Ayodhya.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said, "The selection of the idol for the Prana Pratishtapana of Lord Rama in Ayodhya has been finalised. The idol of Lord Rama, carved by renowned sculptor of our country Yogiraj Arun, will be installed in Ayodhya."

Yogiraj has been widely known for his works including crafting of monumental works such as the 30-foot idol of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose at Amar Jawan Jyothi behind India Gate and the statue of Adi Shankaracharya in Kedarnath

Sadahalli marble, agarbattis & silver bricks 

In addition to the prominent figures contributing to the construction and consecration of Ayodhya Ram Mandir, a massive amount of materials have been sourced from Karnataka for the temple construction.

Significantly, Sadahalli Marble, sourced near Kempegowda International Airport in Devanahalli, has played a substantial role. VHP state functionaries estimate that an impressive 700 to 800 tonnes of this marble have been transported to Ayodhya for the project. 

Furthermore, Karnataka has contributed 150 kilograms of agarbatti, silver bricks, and even gold chains intended to adorn the Ram Lalla idol in Ayodhya.
