IMD predicts 'mainly clear sky' in Ayodhya ahead of inauguration of airport, station tomorrow

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's visit to Ayodhya on Thursday got cancelled due to poor visibility owing to fog. The CM had primarily scheduled his visit to Ayodhya to take stock of preparations ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit for the inauguration of the airport — Maharshi Valmiki International Airport — and the redeveloped railway station — Ayodhya Dham Junction Railway Station — on Saturday, December 30. 

However, the CM postponed his visit to the holy city to Friday and visited the Hanumangarhi temple, followed by the 'darshan' of Ram Lalla. He also inspected the ongoing construction work of the Ram Mandir, which is set to be inaugurated on January 22.

However, as per the prediction by the Indian Meteorological Department on Friday, the city, on Saturday, will witness a 'mainly clear sky,' along with a minimum temperature of 12.3 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 24.4 degrees Celsius.

Speaking about the weather acting as an impediment, the Divisional Commissioner of Ayodhya, Gaurav Dayal said that the preparations for the inauguration of the newly-built airport and the revamped station were going on in full swing despite dense fog in the city in the last two days.

He added, "The prime minister is expected to reach Ayodhya airport somewhere around 10:45 am. After landing at the airport, he will move straight to Ayodhya railway station where he will inaugurate the redeveloped railway station. He will then return to the airport, inaugurate the newly-built airport and subsequently address a 'jan sabha' (public rally)."

Ahead of PM Modi's visit tomorrow, Uttar Pradesh Police have beefed up the security in the city. Three DIGs, 82 DSPs, over 1000 constables, four Provincial Armed Constabulary companies, 17 SPs, 40 ASPs, and 90 inspectors including drones for aerial surveillance, have been deployed for security purposes.
