Namo Bharat trains, RRTS stops will now host filming documentaries, advertisements & other events
NCRTC in a statement said that with the proliferation of OTT platforms and the digital landscape, there has been a surge in the utilisation of public transport.
New Delhi: Filming, documentaries, TV advertisements, and other events will now be possible at the recognizable Namo Bharat trains, Regional Rapid Transit Systems (RRTS) stops, depots, and other locations.
The decision was made with the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) in mind, citing the rise in the use of public transportation infrastructure for "filming feature films, documentaries, and web series" following the emergence of Over The Top (OTT) platform.
NCRTC in a statement said that with the proliferation of OTT platforms and the digital landscape, there has been a surge in the utilisation of public transport systems, particularly metro rail systems, as backdrops for filming feature films, documentaries, and web series.
The body added that NCRTC's decision to open its doors to such activities provides a lucrative opportunity for filmmakers seeking dynamic and modern shooting locations.
RRTS’s infrastructures boast international standards in architecture and design coupled with contemporary aesthetics and world-class facilities, making them optimal choices for filmmakers aiming for visually captivating and versatile settings, it added.
NCRTC stated that the RRTS premises can also be rented for event purposes other than shooting, while the Namo Bharat trains can be booked for events during the night hours
The charges for booking inside a station or the Namo Bharat train would be Rs two lakh per hour. However, the charges would be three lakh per hour for booking inside a station and the Namo Bharat train.
The NCRTC would charge Rs two-and-a-half lakh per hour for booking depots and other sites.
