From Viral Tears to Job Loss: Gen Z Woman Shares Journey from First-Day Blues to Unexpected Layoff
The 21-year-old who gained fame for crying after her initial 9-5 experience now faces a new twist as she discloses job termination after two months.
A 21-year-old woman, previously thrust into the limelight for tearfully documenting her first day at a 9 to 5 job on TikTok, recently revealed that she has been laid off after just two months in the position. Her video, which went viral in October, captured the emotional toll of her work routine, and now her journey has taken an unexpected turn.
Speaking about her layoff, she shared, "I worked for a startup, and they didn't have the workload or the bandwidth they needed to train me and give me work to do." Despite the setback, she asserted her work ethic, stating, "I know that I'm a hard worker, and my boss literally said that I'm one of the smartest people he's ever had working under him."
The woman's dedication was highlighted when she quoted her boss saying, "'I know that I'm going to land on my feet, and he will give me a great referral to anybody.'"
In her initial video, she depicted the challenges of her 9-5 routine, expressing, "I want to shower, eat my dinner, and go to sleep. I don't have the time or energy to cook my dinner either. I don't have the energy to work out, like, that's out of the window. I'm so upset, oh my God."
Despite facing criticism after her first viral video, the woman now navigates an unexpected job loss, a particularly challenging situation as many companies remain closed during the festive season. Undeterred, she plans to explore job opportunities as a server and nanny.
Following her video about the layoff, supportive messages flooded in from netizens. One user reassured her, "Just want to note that there's no shame in taking a service job while you're still looking. You're going to be okay, you got this." Another shared a personal experience, saying, "It happened to me; seems like your life is ending, but I promise it's just getting started. You'll laugh about it at some point."
