Ek Villain sequel: Arjun Kapoor approached for the film?

Makers of 2014's hit film Ek Villain are planning to make the sequel of the film. A report says that Arjun Kapoor has been approached for the film. Read on.

Recently, actor Sidharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh released the trailer of their upcoming film, Marjaavaan. The trailer of the film reminded fans of the duo's previous film Ek Villain. Ek Villain was one of the commercially and critically acclaimed films of the year 2014. The way Riteish portrayed the role of a cold-blooded serial killer sent chills down to the spine of many fans. His character made most of them sit on the edge of their seats. 

It is reported that the makers are now thinking of making a sequel of Ek Villain. It has also been reported by a daily that the producer of the film Ekta Kapoor and director Mohit Suri have approached Arjun Kapoor for the sequel. The twist is, Arjun will be reportedly featured in the film as the antagonist. Reports also suggest that Ekta Kapoor wants to turn the Ek Villain franchise into the Dhoom series, where the story will be narrated from the antagonist's perspective.

One of Arjun's film Half Girlfriend, featuring Shraddha Kapoor, was also helmed by Mohit. The actor and the director have mentioned in the interviews that they share a healthy professional and personal relation. The shooting for the film will reportedly start from next year. It will be interesting to see how Arjun will portray the role. 

Arjun's upcoming projects

Arjun was last seen in India's Most Wanted. The film, helmed by Raj Kumar Gupta, garnered mixed reviews at the box office. Currently, Arjun is busy with his upcoming historical drama film Panipat, which also features Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon in pivotal roles. Apart from Panipat, the actor also has numerous movies in his kitty like Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, and the Hindi remake of Tamil hit film Comali. The rights of its remake are acquired by his father and the producer of the film, Boney Kapoor.
