Batwara 1947 Day 1 Advance Booking: Sunny Deol is gearing up for the release of his upcoming highly anticipated movie Batwara 1947. The film is scheduled to release in the Independence Day weekend, and ahead of it, the makers have opened the ticket counter.

According to Sacnilk, the movie, in 10 hours, has sold 1843 tickets across 907 shows in India, earning ₹5.01 lakh. So far, the film has earned the maximum in Delhi (₹5.89 lakh). It seems the movie will pick up the pace as the release date nears.

The film is earning positive reviews after the release of the trailer, with many rooting for Sunny and Preity's on-screen chemistry. However, the film will be facing a clash at the box office with Emraan Hashmi's upcoming movie Awarapan 2. The film belongs to the hit franchise, and the trailer has created a heavy buzz among the movie buffs.

All about Batwara 1947

The film is set against the backdrop of the 1947 Partition. Batwara 1947 follows a family whose lives are irrevocably altered as violence, fear and forced migration tear apart communities that once lived side by side. Yet, amid unimaginable loss and deepening divisions, the film celebrates the courage to choose kindness over hatred and hope over despair.

Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced under Aamir Khan Productions, the film also stars Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal and Abhimanyu Singh in pivotal roles. Its music is composed by AR Rahman, while the lyrics are penned by Javed Akhtar. To keep the audience hooked, the makers have so far unveiled two songs, Kahaan Chale Gaye Ho Ram and Tabassum. Both are receiving widespread praise from the audience.

The film will hit the theatres on August 14, clashing with Emraan Hashmi's Awarapan 2, starring Emraan Hashmi, Shabana Azmi and Disha Patani, among others.
