BMW M4 CS launched in India at Rs 1.89 crore

BMW M4 CS (Competition Sport) has finally arrived in India, bringing several upgrades over the BMW M4 Competition, such as more engine power that allows the car to sprint from 0 to 100kph in 3.4 seconds. That is 0.1 seconds faster than the speed acceleration of the BMW M4 Competition. Launched as the first CS model, the M4 CS can offer a maximum speed of 302kph, making it the fastest M4 version in India.

The M4 CS starts at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.89 crore, which is roughly Rs 36 lakh more than the price of the M4 Competition. Its colour options are Riviera Blue and Frozen and Isle of Man Green Metallic.

BMW M4 CS features

As the most hardcore M4 variant, the BMW M4 CS has a tweaked chassis and a lighter weight. It is 20kg lighter than the M4 Competition, offering better agility during acceleration. The M4 CS has lightweight 19-inch alloy wheels on the front and 20-inch wheels at the back, while the suspension has been upgraded for better handling. It uses M compound brakes, claimed to deliver better braking power than its non-sport counterpart. However, customers have the option to go for carbon ceramic brakes for even better braking precision.

While the M4 CS uses the same 3-litre twin-turbo six-cylinder engine as the M4 Competition, it has been upgraded to produce 558 PS and 650Nm to offer an acceleration from 0 to 100 kph in 3.4 seconds. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Design-wise, the M4 CS has discernible cosmetic changes, including a frameless kidney grille and alloy wheels in a bronze hue. It also has LED DRLs in yellow colour. The interiors include a flat-bottom steering wheel with an Alcantara wrap. It has several M-specific buttons, while the displays now use M-specific graphics. There is one 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment and a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display with a heads-up display (HUD). The car features a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, drive modes, multiple airbags, automatic headlamps, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and ABS with EBD.
