Jaguar Land Rover retail sales fall 3% to 1,03,108 units in Q2 FY24

JLR sales dipped: Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover highlighted on Monday that the retail sales witnessed a decline of 3 per cent on a year-on-year basis. The retail sales of the manufacturer stood at 1,03,108 units in the second quarter of the current fiscal as compared to the year-ago period.

According to a statement released by Tata Motors, the retail sales for the first six months of the financial year were registered at 2,14,288 units, which marked a surge of 3 per cent on a year-on-year basis.

The production of vehicles in Q2 of FY25 saw a restriction as a result of the aluminium supply disruptions reported in Q1 FY25. The manufacturer’s production was restricted to 86,000 units, which saw a dip of 7 per cent as compared to 93,000 units in the year-ago period, it added.

“ We expect both production and wholesale volumes to pick up strongly in the second half of the financial year as the aluminium supply situation normalises,” the company said.

This development comes shortly after, Land Rover Range Rover launched the Range Rover Ranthambore Edition in India at Rs 5 crore (ex-showroom). It is a limited-edition model, which is limited to only 12 units in India. The Range Rover SV Ranthambore Edition is powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo petrol engine, producing 400 BHP and 550Nm torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic torque converter gearbox. The 3.0-litre engine channels its power to all four wheels of the SUV and is available in a four-seater configuration.

The exterior of the Ranthambore Edition gets a different paint scheme, having a deep black colour with a rich red shimmering effect. The interiors of the Range Rover SV Ranthambore Edition get a luxurious cabin and come with a Bespoke craftsmanship treatment along with a combined Caraway and light Perlino semi-aniline leather with contrast stitching.
