Kia EV9 launched at Rs 1.3 crore in India, offers a range of 561 km

Kia EV9 launched: Kia India launched the EV9 at Rs 1.3 crore (ex-showroom) in India today. The Kia EV9 is the flagship EV from Kia that is based on the E-GMP platform. It offers a range of 561 kilometres on a single charge. The Kia EV9 is available in a single variant and a single battery pack option. The EV9 comes via the CBU route and sits above the EV6. It is loaded with plenty of features such as Level-2 ADAS, massage seats in the middle row with ventilation function, driving modes, and others.

Since the EV9 comes via the CBU route, the starting price of it is Rs 1.3 crore (ex-showroom).

Kia EV9 exterior design:

The exteriors of the Kia EV9 come with a futuristic approach. The front profile gets long LED DRLs with headlamps integrated into the grill. The lower part of the grill opens and closes for better airflow and aerodynamics. It gets a front parking camera for 360-degree cameras and parking sensors to help in parking in tight spaces. The side gets flush door handles and runs on 20-inch alloy wheels. The rear has a clean appearance and has vertical LED DRLs, taillamps, and a powered tailgate feature.

The Kia EV9 has a length of 5,015mm, a width of 1,980mm, and stands 1,780mm tall along with a wheelbase of 3,100mm.

Kia EV9 interiors:

The interiors of the EV9 are similar to the Carnival. It also comes with a dual curved screen of 12.3 inches, one for the infotainment and one for the instrument cluster. The steering wheel has multiple keys for different operations and also has a driving mode selector on the steering wheel. There are multiple storage spaces for the knicknacks. Kia is offering the EV9 with a dual-tone Brown and Black interior option.

Kia offers this SUV in a six-seater configuration and the second row offers a captain chair for enhanced comfort.

Kia EV9 features:

The Kia EV9 offers a long list of features. For starters, it has Vehicle-to-Load technology, dual-electric sunroofs, a head-up display, a digital inside rear-view mirror, and others. Additionally, it also features front and second-row powered adjustable seats with ventilated functions, a 14-speaker audio system from Meridian, and a digital key. For safety, it offers 10 airbags, ABS with EBD, Level-2 ADAS functions such as blind spot monitor, adaptive cruise control, Driver Attention Warning, Blind Spot Collision Warning, and Lane Keep Assist to name a few.

Kia EV9 specifications:

The Kia EV9 has a dual-motor setup and comes with an AWD powertrain. The motor produces 383 BHP power and 700 Nm torque. Its 0-100 km/h sprint has a claimed time of 5.3 seconds. The company claims that it has a range of 561 km on a single charge. The Kia EV9 ships with a 350kW charger, which the company says can be used to charge the SUV from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in 24 minutes.
