Defender in India: British luxury SUV maker, Jaguar Land Rover has launched the Defender Octa in India. Additionally, the buyers can also opt for the Defender Octa Edition One variant, which the company says will be available only for the first year of production. The price of the Land Rover Defender Octa is ₹2.59 crore (ex-showroom) and the price of the Land Rover Defender Octa Edition One is ₹2.79 crore (ex-showroom). It mainly rivals the Mercedes-AMG G63 in its segment.

The price of the Land Rover Defender Octa is ₹2.59 crore (ex-showroom). However, the buyers opting for the Defender Octa Edition One variant will have to pay ₹2.79 crore (ex-showroom).
Regarding engine specifications, the Defender Octa is powered by a 4.4L twin-turbo V8 petrol engine, which produces 620BHP and 800Nm torque paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Land Rover claims that Defender Octa has a 0-100km/h sprint time of 4 seconds.
The Land Rover Defender Octa has increase in dimensions as compared to regular Defender. The Defender Octa is 28mm higher, 68mm wider, ground clearance of 323mm and has a water wading capacity of 1m. It has a 6D Dynamic suspension, has a reworked chassis and suspension components.
On the outside, the silehoutte of the Defender Octa is similar to the regular Defender. It has a revised bumper, which Land Rover says helps in better approach and departure angles, new grille, extended wheel arches and more. Further it has quad-exhaust tips, have an option for 20-22 inch alloy wheel size, and has a wider stance.
The interiors of the Land Rover Defender Octa has Burnt Sienna semi-aniline leather upholstery as standard option, performance seats with supportive bolsters and integrated headrests for better driving experience.
