Ratan Tata's love for cars: Ratan Tata, a visionary leader who shaped the automotive landscape of India passed away at the age of 86. He first launched the Indica in 1998, which was the first indigenous car produced. His passion for cars was evident, with his dream mission of giving the most affordable car for travelling to the people of India. In 2008, the Nano was launched by Ratan Tata for Rs 1 lakh in the market.
Despite shaping the landscape of the Indian automotive industry, Ratan Tata had a good car collection. He was often spotted driving a Ferrari, Mercedes Benz, and Honda in Mumbai. Ratan Tata was also spotted driving some special left-hand drive cars on the streets of Mumbai and had a major collection of sportscars in his fleet.

Ferrari California:
Ratan Tata owned a Ferrari California hardtop convertible in Ferrari’s signature Red shade. He was spotted with the sportscar several times around the streets of Mumbai. The Ferrari California is powered by a 4.3-litre V8 turbo petrol engine, which produces 490 BHP and 504 Nm of peak torque. This sportscar has been discontinued in India.
Mercedes-Benz SL500:
Ratan Tata and his love for convertible cars was unmatched. He owned a Mercedes-Benz SL500 hard-top convertible in India. The specialty of this convertible was that it was a left-hand-drive sportscar. Ratan Tata owned the fifth generation of the SL in India. The SL 500 is powered by a 5.5-litre V8 engine, which produces 306 BHP.
Honda Civic:
Despite having a great collection of fancy sportscars in the early times in the country, Ratan Tata owned a Honda Civic as well. He was spotted driving the Honda Civic on the streets of Mumbai. It was the regular daily driver of Ratan Tata at that time. He was often spotted at pulling up at 5-star hotels self-driving it. Honda Civic used to come with a 1.8-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine.
