Triumph Motorcycles has officially launched the updated 2025 Tiger 1200 series in India, following its global debut earlier this year. The new model is available in two primary variants: the GT Pro priced at Rs 19.39 lakh and the Rally Pro priced at Rs 20.39 lakh (ex-showroom). Additional variants, GT Explorer and Rally Explorer, can be ordered, although their prices are yet to be announced.

Enhanced Features and Performance

The updated Tiger 1200 series features numerous upgrades over its predecessor, focusing on engine refinement, rider comfort, and overall ergonomics. Key enhancements include improved cornering ground clearance, a reduced seat height, and a refreshed colour palette.

Powering the  range is a newly updated 1160 cc inline-triple engine, which has undergone modifications to the crankshaft, alternator rotor, and balancer. This recalibration improves torque delivery at lower RPMs, while maintaining a power output of 148 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 130 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm.

Advanced Suspension and Ergonomics

The 2024 Tiger 1200 introduces an Active Preload Reduction system for the rear suspension, which automatically lowers the rear suspension preload as the bike comes to a halt. This feature allows for a seat height reduction of up to 20 mm at the push of a button. The GT Pro model offers an adjustable seat height of 850/870 mm, while the Rally Pro stands at 875/895 mm.

Built on a tubular steel frame, the Tiger 1200 is equipped with Showa’s 49mm semi-active damping USD forks, providing a wheel travel of 200mm. The rear features a semi-active monoshock with electronic preload adjustment and the new Active Preload Reduction function.

Wheel and Braking Specifications

The Tiger 1200 Rally Pro retains its rugged 21-inch front and 18-inch rear tubeless spoked wheels, whereas the GT Pro variant is equipped with smaller 19-inch front and 18-inch rear cast aluminium wheels. Braking is handled by Brembo monoblock radial callipers paired with twin 320mm floating discs at the front and a single 282mm disc with a Brembo single-piston calliper at the rear.

New Design and Comfort Features

The updated Tiger 1200 features a redesigned profile with a flatter seat for enhanced rider space and comfort on long journeys. An optional low seat reduces the height by 20mm, reaching 830mm in the GT Pro variant and 855mm in the Rally Pro. This seat height can be adjusted electronically by pressing the ‘Home’ button on the switch cube for one second.

Additional comfort enhancements include a longer clutch lever for more finger space and dampened handlebars with risers, now available in the Tiger GT range. This new setup delivers a smoother ride and improves mirror visibility.

Cornering Clearance Improvements

To further enhance handling, Triumph has increased the cornering clearance of the Tiger GT range by repositioning the footpegs closer to the bike. All four variants of the Tiger 1200 lineup are now equipped with the Active Preload Reduction feature, optimizing comfort and stability when coming to a stop.
