Apple Intelligence in China: With the upcoming iOS 18, Apple is collaborating with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT into the iPhone, allowing ChatGPT to work alongside Siri to handle requests for AI-generated content. However, since ChatGPT and similar AI services are unavailable in China, Apple must find an alternative partner.

According to the media reports, Apple is actively seeking a Chinese company to collaborate with for its AI features in China. The company has engaged in talks with Baidu, Alibaba Group, and Beijing-based startup Baichuan AI, though no agreement has been reached yet.

The rollout of Apple Intelligence features will be limited to a shrinking customer base when iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia launch this fall. Apple announced last week that these features would not be available in European Union countries, and without a partnership with a Chinese AI company, they may also be unavailable in China.
