Ather Energy launches 450 Apex, know more about its special features

e-Scooter: The Bangalore-based two-wheeler maker Ather Energy has finally launched the flagship e-scooter 450 Apex, available at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.89 lakh.

The 450 Apex uses the same 3.7kWh battery pack as the 450X, but claimed IDC range has gone up to 157km due to the new regenerative braking system, as per an Autocar India report.

The new system allows the rider to twist the accelerator 15 degrees backward to slow down without the brakes, a feature that has been deemed as the 'Magic Twist'.

The booking for the electric scooter manufacturer's latest addition had started last month for a token amount of Rs 2,500.

As part of the launch, the company informed that the 450 Apex has a 7.0 kW/26 Nm motor, allowing it to crossover speeds of 100 kmph, making it the only Ather electric vehicle (EV) to achieve this feat. In contrast, the 450X model had a top speed of 90 kmph.

The Apex also offers an improvised acceleration, allowing riders to reach 40 kmph from a standstill in just 2.9 seconds.

As the 450 Apex is based on the 450 platform, the wheelbase, tyre sizes, seat height, and ground clearance have remained unchanged.

The Apex also debuts the new enclosed belt drive system, which will soon be on all Ather models going forward.

On the production front, the 450 Apex will be manufactured on a demand basis, and only up to October 2024, as per the report.
