Hyundai Motor India's domestic sales increases 9% annually to 6.02 lakh units

In December 2023, HMIL recorded total sales of 56,450 units with 42,750 units in domestic sales and 13,700 units in exports.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) on Monday announced that in the current year (CY) 2023 it has recorded an increase of 9 per cent in domestic sales to 6,02,111 units, from 5,52,511 units in the previous year.

The Indian subsidiary of the South-Korean automaker witnessed an elevation in exports by 10 per cent, shipping 1,63,675 units in CY2023 as against 1,48,300 units in CY2022.

In December 2023, HMIL recorded total sales of 56,450 units with 42,750 units in domestic sales and 13,700 units in exports.

In the domestic sales segment, the company witnessed a jump of 10 per cent at 42,750 from  in the same period in 2022.

Tarun Garg, COO at Hyundai Motor India Ltd, said, “HMIL has not just kept pace but surpassed industry growth, estimated at around 8.2 per cent."

Garg further said that in 2023 the automaker "increased its annual production capacity by 50,000 units" to meet the rising demand from their customers.
