Elon Musk tests X’s video game streaming feature, Here’s how you can stream on X

Elon Musk logged in to X with an anonymous account with a new username @cyb3rgam3r420 and streamed Diablo IV to test the video game streaming feature.

X video game streaming: Last night, Elon Musk went on Live on X (previously Twitter) to test the new video game streaming feature of the microblogging platform. Elon Musk logged in to the platform with an anonymous account with a new username @cyb3rgam3r420 and streamed Diablo IV, developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment for more than 52 minutes. 

Later, Elon Musk replied to the stream from his official account, confirming the fact that he was testing the platform’s new feature and inviting other Diablo players for a 10-minute gaming session. Other than Elon, Mark Kalman, an Engineering Lead for Media at X, also shared a video showing how X Premium users can start streaming on the platform by integrating Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) with their X Media Studio. 

Here’s how to start streaming on X using OBS

Follow these step-by-step instructions to stream on X using OBS:

Go to studio.x.com and log in to your X account with an active premium subscription.

Setup in X Studio

  • Navigate to the "Producer" tab
  • Click on the "Sources" tab next to the "Broadcaster" and create a new source
  • Give your source a name and choose the region closest to your location
  • Copy the stream key from the provided window

Configure OBS

  • Keep OBS open and running
  • Configure OBS to capture any fullscreen application
  • Open the webcam on your laptop
  • Navigate to Settings > Stream in OBS
  • Enter the stream key copied from X Studio
  • Choose the service as "Twitter"
  • Select the server nearest to your location
  • Click "Start Streaming" in OBS

Start streaming in X Media Studio

  • Return to X Studio.
  • Start a new broadcast and provide it with a name and description.
  • Select the source you created earlier.

Within the next 10 seconds, the stream preview will start in your window.

  • Click "Start Broadcast" on X Studio.
  • Click on the Tweet button to share your stream in the form of a tweet.
  • Personalise your tweet as needed.

X to experiment with live shopping

X has also announced a collaboration with Paris Hilton to venture into live shopping features. As per Variety's report, Hilton is committed to producing four exclusive video content programs annually, incorporating live-shopping components on X.

X's Live Shopping feature offers an integrated experience, allowing users to watch, chat, and shop within a single interface. During a live stream with Hilton on X, users can seamlessly explore a product catalogue and proceed to the website to make purchases using the in-app browser.
