The beauty and wellness industry in India is expected to reach $25 billion by 2025, according to a RedSeer report. This growth is driven by increasing digital influence, social media exposure, and a rising number of independent professionals.

Some individuals stand out by inspiring change and growing and leading ahead in the industry.  Makeup artist Kashish Jain is one such force. This Women’s Day, her journey is a testament to how passion, skill, and a desire to uplift others can create lasting empowerment, especially for women. Kashish is helping women tap into this booming sector by making makeup education more accessible.

A Mission Beyond Makeup

For Kashish, makeup is more than just an art—it’s a path to financial independence. Inspired by her mother, she is on a mission to help women gain self-reliance, particularly those from small towns and villages who lack access to formal training. “My mother has always inspired me to help others, and now it’s my turn,” she says, emphasizing her commitment to empowering women.

With India's female workforce participation rate at just 37% as per PLFS data 2023, many women struggle to gain financial independence. Kashish’s initiative addresses this issue by providing free and affordable training, equipping women with marketable skills in the beauty industry.

Making Learning Accessible

The beauty industry is evolving rapidly, and Kashish ensures that knowledge remains within everyone’s reach. As the co-owner of PK Makeup Academy and the face behind PK Makeup Studio on YouTube, she shares in-depth tutorials, enabling countless women to turn their passion into a profession—even if they cannot attend traditional courses.

With over 50% of beauty professionals in India being self-employed (FICCI report), Kashish’s efforts provide a direct path to entrepreneurship. Many of her students have started home-based salons, freelancing careers, and YouTube channels, proving that financial growth is possible with the right skills.

A Free Seminar to Empower Hundreds

On January 9th in Surat, Kashish took her mission a step further by hosting a free makeup seminar attended by over 800 women. The event wasn’t just about learning techniques; it was about breaking financial constraints and building confidence. She guides and motivates aspiring artists to chase their dreams without fear.

The response to such initiatives highlights a growing demand for accessible, skill-based education. According to Skill India data, over 5 lakh women have enrolled in beauty and wellness training programs, making it one of the fastest-growing vocational fields.

Inspiring Women to Dream Big

As Kashish continues to mentor aspiring makeup artists, her message is clear. With determination and the right support, no dream is too big. Through tutorial, she is not just teaching makeup—she is teaching women to believe in themselves, become financially independent, and rise above their circumstances. And that is the true definition of beauty.
