The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has declared a cash prize of Rs 58 crore for the Indian cricket team following their victory in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The unbeaten team, captained by Rohit Sharma, clinched the title with a dominant win over New Zealand in the final.

As per the BCCI, the reward will be shared among the players, coaching staff, support personnel, and the men's selection committee. However, the board has not revealed the specific distribution of the amounts.

"Under Rohit Sharma’s astute leadership, India showcased dominance, registering convincing victories against Bangladesh, Pakistan, New Zealand, and Australia en route to the final," BCCI stated in its official release.

BCCI President Roger Binny, while lauding the team's achievement, underscored India's growing dominance in the world of cricket.

"Winning consecutive ICC titles is a testament to the team's dedication and excellence. This is our second major triumph in 2025, following the ICC U19 Women's World Cup win, reflecting India’s strong cricketing ecosystem," noted Binny.

BCCI's Financial Performance

As per the results declared by BCCI, the board's total revenue surged to Rs 6,558.8 crore in FY 2022-23, a remarkable increase from Rs 4,360.57 crore in the previous year. The key contributors to this revenue boost include Media Rights Income: Rs 2,524.8 crore, Indian Premier League (IPL) Surplus: Rs2,444.53 crore, Men’s International Cricket Tours Income: Rs 642.78 crore and Women's Premier League (WPL) Surplus: Rs 377.49 crore. 

Despite these record earnings, expenses also saw a surge, with total expenditure (including debts) reaching Rs 2,831.56 crore. The BCCI set aside Rs 500 crore as a contingency provision and Rs 1,600 crore for income tax payments.
