Yol, Himachal Pradesh – In a proactive initiative to instill traffic discipline and ensure road safety, the Rising Star Corps of the Indian Army successfully conducted a Traffic Rules Awareness Program in coordination with the Regional Transport Office (RTO). The awareness drive, aimed at sensitizing combatants about traffic regulations and safe riding practices, underscored the critical role of disciplined driving in accident prevention.
The session kicked off with an informative lecture by RTO representatives, who meticulously detailed essential traffic rules, road signs, and penalties for violations. Special focus was placed on defensive driving techniques, the importance of wearing protective gear like helmets, and the perils of reckless riding. Instructors reiterated that traffic safety is not merely about compliance but a mindset that ensures personal and public well-being.
Bringing Theory into Action
A live demonstration followed, bringing theory into action. RTO officials showcased real-time procedures, including bike rider inspections, verification of driving licenses and vehicle documents, and checks for compliance with safety gear regulations. Personnel were also trained in standard hand signals, lane discipline, and intersection protocols, reinforcing their understanding of real-world road scenarios.
The event culminated in a pledge-taking ceremony, where participants vowed to uphold traffic regulations, embrace safe driving habits, and lead by example. The pledge served as a reminder that responsibility on the road extends beyond individual safety to the broader community.
