New Delhi: Indian Army is commencing a month-long series of commemorative events to mark the 62nd Walong Day and honour the valiant soldiers who fought in the Battle of Walong during the 1962 Sino-Indian War. 

The commemoration will begin on October 17 and continue until November 14. The events will honour the supreme sacrifice and the courage displayed by heroes who defended India’s eastern front. 

This year's commemoration is set to feature a lively array of activities designed to engage local communities and pay tribute to our fallen heroes. The carefully organized events will include white water rafting, motorcycle rallies, bicycle rallies, battlefield treks, adventure treks, and a half marathon, all celebrating the adventurous spirit of the Indian Army in the rugged landscape of Arunachal Pradesh , according to news agency ANI. 

Additionally, medical and veterinary camps will be organized to provide essential support to remote villages, further strengthening the connection between the Army and the local community. The culmination of these events will occur on Walong Day, November 14, with the inauguration of the newly renovated Walong War Memorial, symbolizing honor and respect for the brave individuals who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
