Thailand’s major property developer MQDC is eyeing NCR region first, says MQDC official

Magnolia Quality Development Corporation Limited (MQDC), a leading property developer in Thailand has huge plans to establish a stronghold in Delhi NCR region, Wilawan Brenig, Vice President, International Market Development, MQDC said while showcasing their luxury projects up for grabs for Indians in Delhi today. She also added that the plan to expand to other major cities like Mumbai and Bengaluru is in pipeline but it will take some time. “ The priority as of now is to target the NCR region first and then expand to other parts of the countries,” Chulamas Jitpatima, (Amy) Country Director, MQDC said.

“Out of 49 per cent of the pool availaible for foreigners in Thailand, around 5-6 per cent is bought by Indians,” Brenig told Republic Business. Brenig also threw light on MQDC’s India’s plan going forward. “As of now, we are in talks exploring a few Delhi, Gurugram locations. We hope to finalise partnership by early next year, and development by 2025,” Brenig said.

The company has had a presence in India since 2019 with its Whizdom Club, a coworking space in Delhi ’s Greater Kailash II district. The company has also invested over 10 crores to develop its second co-working facility, Whizdom Club at Golf Course, Gurugram. Talking about the occupancy at the already established coworking space in GK 2 , “ The occupancy at coworking space at GK is around 80-90 per cent while at Whizdom Club it is at 15 per cent now.”
