Delhi Nursery Admissions 2024: As per sources within the Delhi Directorate of Education (DDE), private schools in Delhi are expected to release the first list of successful applications for Nursery, Kindergarten (KG), and Class I admissions on January 12, 2024. The deadline for submission of admission forms closed on December 15, 2023. According to the official notification's admission schedule, the first list of accepted candidates, along with a waiting list, will be made public on January 12, 2024.
The directive emphasizes transparency in the admission process, requiring schools to display a breakdown of points for all applicants based on set criteria on their respective websites. Additionally, it mandates that the admission criteria comply with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, especially concerning the admission of children with disabilities.
The selection process is set to be conducted transparently, involving a draw of lots, either computerized or through slips, in the presence of parents. Schools are mandated to notify eligible parents about the draw date in advance via the school's website, notice board, and email, at least two days prior. The entire draw will be recorded via videography, with the footage maintained by the school. Parents will have the opportunity to view the slips before they are placed in the draw box.
Furthermore, all private unaided recognized schools are required to upload details of admitted and waitlisted children, along with their allotted marks based on the school's point system, on the department's module. Schools have a ten-day window from January 13, 2024, to January 22, 2024, to address parent queries regarding the points assigned to their children based on the school's criteria. Schools are mandated to maintain a documented mechanism to respond to parent inquiries via email or letters and keep records in a register.
