The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the results of the NEET-UG retest on Monday, July 1. The re-examination, held on June 23, was for 1,563 candidates who were granted grace marks due to time loss experienced during the original exam on May 5. However, only 813 candidates attended the retest, with many opting to retain their original scores without the grace marks.

In addition to the NEET retest results, the NTA also issued revised rank cards for all 23.3 lakh candidates who took the exam on May 5 and June 23. Many candidates reported an increase in their NEET ranks after receiving the updated scorecards, with improvements ranging from 30 to 40 points.

One candidate, who initially scored 670 out of 720, saw his rank rise from 14,622 to 14,598. Another candidate, Ujjwal Rajput, whose original score of 644 placed him at rank 35,037, now has a rank of 35,001. Similarly, Vaibhav Aggarwal's rank improved from 25,348 to 25,312 with his score of 655.

Conversely, some candidates observed minimal changes or reductions in category-specific ranks. Manish Jatt, an OBC category candidate, saw his All-India Rank improve from 87,156 to 87,117, but his OBC rank dropped from 41,278 to 41,287 despite scoring 595 marks. Another candidate, who scored 605 marks, saw his AIR improve from 74,579 to 74,541, with his OBC rank rising from 35,102 to 35,094.

Madanjit Pascricha, who scored 676 marks, experienced a rank improvement from 10,766 to 10,746. He questioned the process, saying, "How is this possible? Why does the NTA not release the data of all students who reappeared and clarify whether they used a normalization formula or not?"
