The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced the recruitment of 1339 Assistant Professors (Medical) across various Medical Hospitals and Universities/Colleges under the Health Department, Government of Bihar. Eligible candidates interested in applying for these positions can now submit their applications through the official website at bpsc.bih.nic.in. The selected candidates will be stationed in Bihar, with a salary scale ranging from Rs. 15,600 to Rs. 39,100 (Level-11), along with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6600.

Candidates can apply for the vacancies from June 24 to July 16.

 Application Process and Fee Structure

To apply for the BPSC Assistant Professor positions, candidates are required to log in using their registered username and password on the official BPSC website. Alongside the application, candidates need to pay an online application fee based on their category:
- General, OBC, and EWS categories: Rs. 300
- SC/ST/PWD/Female candidates: Rs. 225

 Age Limitation

Candidates must adhere to the following maximum age limits as of August 1, 2023:
- Unreserved Category: 45 years
- Backward Class/Extremely Backward Class (Male and Female): 48 years
- Unreserved Female, Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (Male and Female): 50 years
- Doctors currently employed in the Bihar State Health Services cadre: 50 years

 Selection Criteria

BPSC will select candidates based on a comprehensive evaluation of various parameters, including educational qualifications and professional experience.

Educational Qualification Evaluation:

- MBBS Examinations: Candidates will earn marks based on their performance:
 - Above 70%: 5 marks
 - Above 65%: 4 marks
 - Above 60%: 3 marks
 - Above 55%: 2 marks
 - Above 50%: 1 mark
- For candidates who have failed in MBBS exams, the marks obtained will be calculated by averaging the failing and passing marks in the respective subject.

Postgraduate Qualifications: 

- MD/MS or equivalent recognized by the Medical Council of India: 10 marks
- PhD, DM, M.CH. in the same specialty, and D.N.B. (Superspeciality): 10 marks

Work Experience: Candidates with government sector experience will receive 2 marks per completed year, up to a maximum of 10 marks.
