New Delhi: The Railway Recruitment Board has released the RRB Junior Engineer (JE) recruitment notification 2024. A total of 7951 vacancies have been announced. The online application window will open on July 30 and the last date to apply is August 29.
As per the notification, the vacancies are for the posts of Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), Chemical Metallurgical Assistant, and others. There shall be two stages of Computer Based Test (CBT), followed by document verification (DV) and medical examination (ME).
“Applications are invited from eligible candidates for various posts of Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent, (Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant, Chemical Supervisor (Research) and Metallurgical Supervisor (Research). Applications, complete in all respects, must be submitted online only latest by 23:59 hours of 29.08.2024,” the official notice read.
Candidates will be able to apply online at indianrailways.gov.in or the respective RRB regional websites. The last date to pay the application fee is August 29 and the application correction window will be open from August 30 to September 8.
AGE LIMIT: Unreserved category candidates should be aged between 18-36 years. Upper age limit relaxation to reserved category candidates will be provided. the cut-off date for upper age limit for various categories have been given below:
Educational Qualifications- Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in engineering(B.E, B.Tech) as per the posts. Detailed information regarding this can be accessed from the official notification.
Chemical and Metallurgical Supervisor – Degree or its equivalent in Chemical Technology from a recognized University / Institution covering any one or more of the following fields: a) Petroleum Products, b) Paints and Corrosion Prevention c) Polymers. Knowledge of any computer language will be essential.
OR
Degree or its equivalent in Metallurgical Engineering from a recognized University / Institution. Knowledge of any computer language will be essential.
The RRB JE application fee for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Ex-Servicemen, Female, Transgender, Minorities, or Economically Backward Class (EBC), the examination fee is Rs 250. This amount will be refunded, after deducting applicable bank charges, upon appearing in the 1st stage Computer-Based Test (CBT). For the remaining categories, the examination fee is Rs 500. As per the official notice, an amount of Rs 400 will be refunded, after deducting bank charges, upon appearing in the first stage computer-based test (CBT).
Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA): Level 6 (RSRP 7th CPC Pay Matrix.) with initial pay of ₹35,400/-, plus other allowances admissible at that time.
Chemical Supervisor / Research and Metallurgical Supervisor / Research Level 7 (RSRP 7th CPC Pay Matrix.) with initial pay of ₹ 44,900/-, plus other allowances admissible at that time.
Scribe Details: For eligible PwBD candidates, provide a passport-size JPEG photograph of the scribe (30 to 70 KB) without dark glasses or a cap. Changing the scribe at the exam venue is generally not allowed but may be permitted in exceptional cases with valid reasons and proper documentation.
1st Stage CBT (Common for all notified posts of this CEN)
The 1st stage CBT is of screening nature and the standard of questions for the CBT will be generally in conformity with the educational standards and/or minimum technical qualifications prescribed for the posts. The normalized score of 1 st stage exam shall be used only for short listing of candidates for 2nd stage exam as per their merit. Candidates who are shortlisted for 2nd stage CBT availing the reservation benefits of a community, PwBD and ExSM shall continue to be considered only against that community for all subsequent stages of recruitment process. The Questions will be of objective type with multiple choices.
2nd Stage CBT:
Shortlisting of Candidates for the 2nd Stage CBT exam shall be based on the normalized marks obtained by them in the 1st Stage CBT Exam. The total number of candidates to be shortlisted for 2nd Stage shall be 15 times the community wise total vacancy of Posts notified against the RRB as per their merit in 1st Stage CBT. However, Railways reserve the right to increase/decrease this limit in total or for any specific category(s) as required to ensure availability of adequate candidates for all the notified posts.
