Postpone NEET-PG 2024: A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking the postponement of the NEET PG 2024 examination, scheduled for August 11, 2024. The petitioner has raised concerns regarding the late allocation of exam cities, which has created significant logistical challenges for candidates. The top court will hear the plea tomorrow, August 9.

According to the plea, the test cities were assigned on July 31, 2024, with specific exam centers set to be announced on August 8, 2024. While this measure aims to prevent malpractices, it has inadvertently caused issues for over two lakh examinees. The petitioner argues that the short notice period has made it extremely difficult for students to arrange travel to their allocated cities, exacerbated by limited train availability and soaring airfares.

"...more than two lakh students are scheduled to appear in the aforestated examination. The examination is scheduled to be held in 185 test cities, therefore, resulting in non-availability of train tickets as well as hiking of air fares due to dynamic pricing thereby making it almost impossible for a large number of students to reach their test centres," states the petition.

In addition to the postponement request, the petitioner has called for transparency in the normalization process for the four question paper sets. This demand aims to ensure fairness and eliminate any potential arbitrariness in the evaluation process.
