Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) has released the Asia University rankings 2024 today. India has become the country in Asia with the highest number of universities featured in the list. In the latest QS Asia University Rankings, India has also surpassed China in the number of listed universities overall.This year, 148 universities of India have made it to the QS rankings against China with 133 universities.
There are a total of 856 universities in the list that have been ranked this year. In the list, Japan has listed only 96 universities.
In the year 2023, only 118 Indian universities were listed while this year, 30 more universities have been featured due to which the number jumped to 148, which is the highest.
QS Asia Universities Rankings: Top Indian Institutes
The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) has clinched the top spot in India with the 40th rank followed by IIT-Delhi at the 46th position and IIT-Madras at the 53rd rank. Notably, IIT Bombay was ranked 149 in the QS World University Rankings 2024.

In the overall QS Asia University rankings 2024, Peking University, Beijing has been ranked as the best in Asia with the help of 11 indicators used to compile the ranking list.
