Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2 has emerged as one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films of 2023. The film, currently in its third week of theatrical release, continues to draw audiences and maintain a strong box office presence. The film, however, experienced a minor dip in the box office collection recently. On August 28, the third Monday since the film released, Gadar 2 collected ₹4.60 crore registering the film's lowest box office collection on a particular day.

Gadar 2 slows down at the box office
In its first week, Gadar 2 accumulated an impressive ₹284.63 crore in domestic collections. The momentum continued in the second week which added ₹134.47 crore to the film's total tally. On its third Friday (August 25), the film earned ₹7.1 crore, followed by ₹13.75 crore and ₹16.10 crore on Saturday and Sunday respectively (August 26-27). On Monday, however, the film saw a massive dip, collecting ₹4.60 crore India nett. The film's total collection stands at ₹460.55 crore.

Gadar 2 rewrites box office records
Ever since its release, Gadar 2 has been on a record-breaking spree at the box office. The Sunny Deol starrer opened to an impressive ₹40.10 crore to become the second-biggest opener of the year after Pathaan. It then minted ₹55.4 crore to become the highest-grosser ever on Independence Day. The film recently became the fastest Hindi movie to cross the ₹450 crore mark at the domestic box office. Previously, only two other films have managed to cross the ₹450 crore mark in India -- Pathaan and Baahubali 2.
