Gadar 2 has wreaked havoc at the box office by minting ₹486.75 crore in India in three weeks. However, the director and actress have seemingly locked horns. In a recent interview, Ameesha Patel was asked about her stance on the movie’s threequel. To this, Ameesha made it clear that she will not be a part of Gadar 3 if her character Sakina does not have a subsequent role. Now, the film’s director Anil Sharma has reacted to her claims.

What did Ameesha Patel say about Gadar 3?
Amid the massive success attained by Gadar 2, reports of another sequel of the film in the works have surfaced. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Ameesha was asked if she would like to be back as Sakina in the third part of the film as well. To this, the actress clarified that she will be a part of the film only if she has a substantial part in it.

Ameesha added, “I will not disappoint my fans because I know what they felt was lacking this time around and we owe it to them. At the end of the day, they are coming for Tara and Sakina. Their love and attachment are for Tara and Sakina. You cannot have Titanic (1997) without Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio.” She also blamed her lack of screen space in Gadar 2 as a reason for the NRI audience not liking the film.

In a follow-up interview with Bollywood Hungama, the Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma said, “Ameesha ji has said a lot of things during the course of the film. I’d not like to comment on it.” He also added that it was he who gave birth to the character of Sakina and not Ameesha. He added, “I myself don’t know what will happen in Gadar 3. Unke kehne ya sochne se kya hota hai? (It does not matter what she says or thinks). I am happy she’s so connected with Gadar. I’d like to thank them.”
