Penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, the song brings out the perfect emotion of love and longing. The song gives a glimpse about the story revolving around Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. Kunal Kemmu also makes an appearance in the song. And on the other side, Aditya Roy Kapur's longing for Sonakshi Sinha is quite visible but Roop (Alia's character) is married to Aditya in the film and that too is portrayed beautifully through the song. A small glimpse of Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit also features. The conflict of love is expressed through Arijit Singh's soulful voice and Pritam's rhythm.
