Shahid Kapoor has advised his ‘Padmaavat’ co-star Ranveer Singh to love his wife Deepika Padukone as much the Rajput king Maharawal Ratan Singh loved Rani Padmavati.
Shahid recently appeared on ‘Koffee with Karan’, where during the rapid fire around, he was asked about the marriage advice he’d give to Ranveer Singh. The actor replied, "Love her as much as Rawal Ratan Singh loved Padmavati.”
For the unversed, Shahid had played the role of the Rajput King and Deepika was his Rani Padmavat in ‘Padmaavat’, a film adaptation of the 1540 famous poem ‘Padmavat’ written by Malik Muhammad Jayasi.
Ranveer had played the role of Alauddin Khilji, an Afghan tyrant, who covets the queen and declares war on the Rajputs for the same. Unlike ‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram-Leela' and ‘Bajirao Mastani’, where ‘Deepveer’ set the screens on fire with their chemistry, the duo didn’t have a single scene together in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial. For a change, it was Shahid-Deepika who brought out the romance on the screen.
On the show, Shahid was also honest to admit that he wasn’t a part of the friend circle of Ranveer, Deepika and Bhansali during the shoot, as he believes his equation with the industry is ‘zilch.’
Previously, Shahid’s advice for his rumoured ex-girlfriend Priyanka Chopra’s husband Nick Jonas had also made headlines. The ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ star had then commented, “Never back down. You’re with the original ‘Desi Girl.”
