After the massive success of Gadar 2, Sunny Deol is all set to headline Rajkumar Santoshi's next project. The project has been titled Lahore, 1947. The announcement of the film was made on Tuesday, October 3.

Sunny Deol to headline Lahore, 1947
AKP shared a note on their social media handle X, formerly Twitter, and announced that Rajkumar Santoshi, along with Sunny Deol, will lead the project Lahore, 1947. They stated, "I, and the entire team at AKP, are most excited and happy to announce our next, starring Sunny Deol, directed by Raj Kumar Santoshi, titled Lahore, 1947. We look forward to collaborating with the immensely talented Sunny, and one of my favorite directors Raj Santoshi. The journey we have embarked on promises to be most enriching. We seek your blessings."

The upcoming film Lahore, 1947 is produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions, and boasts one of the most prominent creative names of the century. Interestingly, this film will also mark AKP's 17th production under their banner. Rajkumar Santoshi and Sunny Deol have previously delivered three box office hits -- Ghayal, Damini, and Ghatak. Sunny Deol was recently seen in Gadar 2 and reprised the role of Tara Singh. In the film, Tara Singh returned to Pakistan in order to rescue his imprisoned son before the India-Pakistani War of 1971. A sequel to Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001), it also featured Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma, who reprised their roles from the previous film.
